Vsetín: Compete Bravely Before Fading Late

Vsetín began positively and showed why cup ties against lower-league opposition can be uncomfortable, creating the first meaningful opportunity and forcing Reichl into action during the opening exchanges. For much of the first half they remained competitive, but Krobot's opener shifted the momentum firmly towards Bohemians and his second shortly before the interval left the hosts facing a formidable task. Vsetín continued to work hard after the break and kept the deficit at two goals for a considerable period, but tiredness and Bohemians' superior quality eventually told. Three late goals transformed what had been a respectable resistance into a heavy 5-0 defeat, although the final score was harsher than Vsetín's early contribution to the contest might suggest.

Bohemians Praha 1905: Bohemians Turn Quality Into Ruthless Victory

Bohemians Praha 1905 took a little time to settle but ultimately produced exactly the sort of professional cup performance expected against lower-league opposition. Reichl provided security during Vsetín's promising opening spell, while Bohemka increasingly controlled possession and territory as the game progressed. Černý was particularly lively and influential in the attacking phases, Kareem contributed effectively from wide areas, and the defence ensured there was no route back into the contest for the hosts. Above all, however, the evening belonged to Krobot: four goals, including a first-half brace, a completed hat-trick and a confidently converted penalty, made him the decisive figure in an emphatic victory.

Match Overview

Krobot Fires Bohemians Into Last Sixteen

Bohemians Praha 1905 comfortably booked their place in the last 16 of the MOL Cup with an emphatic 5-0 victory away to third-tier Vsetín, powered by a remarkable four-goal display from Ladislav Krobot. The hosts caused Bohemka a few problems during the opening stages, but once Krobot broke the deadlock in the 27th minute the difference in quality gradually became apparent. He doubled the advantage shortly before half-time before completing his hat-trick and adding a fourth from the penalty spot late in the second half. Jan Vondra completed the scoring as the Klokani turned a potentially awkward cup tie into a convincing victory.

Key Match Events

First Half: Krobot Double Puts Klokani In Control

Bohemians made several changes for the third-round cup tie, with Michal Reichl starting in goal, David Heidenreich featuring in defence, and Abdulla Yusuf Obinaya and Adam Černý operating in midfield behind Krobot in attack. The changes perhaps contributed to a slightly hesitant opening from the visitors.

Indeed, it was Vsetín who threatened first. An early set-piece produced a dangerous header that Reichl dealt with well at his right-hand post, before Bahounek tested the experienced goalkeeper with a shot from outside the penalty area. Bohemians soon produced an excellent opportunity of their own when Yusuf found himself with the chance to shoot towards an unguarded goal following a mistake by goalkeeper Hamza, but his effort drifted narrowly wide.

The breakthrough finally arrived in the 27th minute. Černý burst into the penalty area following a neat exchange and saw his attempt blocked by the advancing Hamza, but Krobot reacted quickest to the loose ball and calmly finished into the empty net to put Bohemka ahead. The Klokani were now beginning to impose themselves on the contest, with Vsetín increasingly forced onto the defensive.

Krobot struck again shortly before the interval. Heidenreich released the striker with a long pass, Krobot used his strength to hold off his marker and carried the ball into the penalty area before creating enough space to fire towards the right-hand corner. His second goal gave Bohemians a commanding 2-0 half-time advantage.

Second Half: Four-Goal Krobot Finishes Vsetín Off

Bohemians took control of the tempo immediately after the restart and rarely allowed their hosts an opportunity to work their way back into the contest. Václav Pilař looked to get into shooting positions, while Gigli Ndefe Kareem twice tried his luck without seriously troubling the Vsetín goal. Černý also continued to cause problems, producing a clever turn to escape his opponent around halfway before advancing and shooting off target.

The score remained 2-0 for much of the second half, but Vsetín's resistance finally collapsed during the closing stages. Roman Květ released Kareem on the overlap and the Nigerian defender intelligently pulled the ball back into the six-yard area. Krobot showed greater determination than the covering defender, forcing his way in front and finishing from close range to complete his hat-trick.

There was still more to come. The lively Černý drove into the penalty area and was brought down by a Vsetín defender. After a brief hesitation, referee Ehrenberger pointed to the spot. Krobot took responsibility and confidently dispatched the penalty towards the left corner for his fourth goal of the evening, completing an exceptional individual performance.

Bohemians were not finished. Following a corner, the visitors recycled possession and Černý pulled the ball back from the byline towards Vondra. The centre-back met it with a left-footed effort that found its way inside the left post, completing a resounding 5-0 victory and confirming Bohemka's passage into the MOL Cup round of 16.

We came here to advance, and we achieved that—we’re happy about it. The opening goal really broke the game open; up until then, the home side had been organized, energetic, and combative. After that, we managed to steer the match the way we wanted. We knew our game plan, and the final result turned out very well.
