Jablonec: The North Bohemians were well organised and dangerous enough to take the lead, particularly through set pieces and long throws. Cedidla was their standout attacking contributor, scoring his third league goal of the season after also finding the net in the Conference League qualifiers. The visitors struck with virtually the final kick of the first half when David Cedidla converted a loose situation in the penalty area, but Bohemians responded after the break when captain Daniel Čermák calmly converted from the spot. Both sides had chances to win it late on, with Bohemians twice hitting the woodwork, but neither could find a decisive second goal.

First Half: Jablonec Strike at the Death
The opening half was a competitive and combative affair, with both teams producing one particularly clear opportunity. Jablonec threatened first after Tchanturishvili created space for a shot, but his low effort was comfortably gathered by Bohemians goalkeeper Frühwald. The visitors then appeared to take the lead when Suchan found Růsek behind the Bohemians defence, but the move was ruled out for offside.
Bohemians gradually created their own opportunities. A cleverly worked free-kick eventually found Havel on the right, whose high cross was met by Lischka. His header beat goalkeeper Mihelak but struck the crossbar, with the ensuing scramble in front of goal ultimately coming to nothing. Shortly before half-time, Matoušek broke forward and fed Almási, but the striker's effort was safely dealt with by Mihelak.
Jablonec finished the half strongly. A long throw from Novák was flicked on by Cedidla towards Chramosta, whose close-range effort was brilliantly blocked by Havel. The danger was not over, however. Sláma returned the ball into the area, where Chramosta headed it across goal and Cedidla was left unmarked. The defender calmly finished against the left post to give Jablonec a 1-0 lead immediately before the interval.
Second Half: Čermák's Penalty Restores Parity
Bohemians began the second half on the front foot, with Smrž driving forward from outside the penalty area and working his way into a shooting position. His effort was heading towards the left-hand post, but Mihelak made the save. The game remained tense and physical, with numerous individual battles and several moments of confrontation between the players.
The decisive moment came after the hour mark. A cross into the Jablonec penalty area struck Cedidla's hand, prompting referee Zaoral to consult the VAR before checking the monitor himself. A penalty was awarded, and Čermák stepped up for Bohemians. Despite Mihelak remaining on his line, the captain kept his composure and confidently converted to make it 1-1. It was his second successful league penalty of the season and Bohemians' first home league goal of the campaign.
The equaliser lifted Bohemians and increased their attacking activity, but Jablonec came close to regaining the lead. Novák delivered an excellent free-kick into a crowded penalty area, where former Bohemians player Okeke met it with a header. His effort looked destined for the net, only for Frühwald to produce a superb reaction save, using his fingertips to divert the ball to safety.
Bohemians then came agonisingly close to winning the game in stoppage time. Substitute Černý broke into the penalty area and cut the ball back towards Mirvald, whose first-time effort crashed against the crossbar. Jablonec also threatened from another long throw, but neither side could produce the winning goal during more than seven minutes of added time.
Looking back on the match, I have to say that the draw was probably a fair result. But we’re a bit disappointed because we were in the lead. We didn’t start the second half particularly well, but we made some decent substitutions. I felt we could have scored a second goal. But in the chances we create, we can’t even hit the target. We need to stay calmer when dealing with those situations. Unfortunately, a set-piece followed, which led to a penalty. I’ve watched it once on my tablet; as far as I’m concerned, it was a normal challenge. VAR is only supposed to correct obvious mistakes; in my view, this wasn’t an obvious mistake. As you lot say, it was a ‘soft’ penalty.

I have mixed feelings. I didn’t think much of our performance in the first half. We were proactive in pressing, but we struggled in the final third. To cap it all off, we conceded a goal in stoppage time from a long throw-in. If there’s one thing Jablonec score from, it’s long throw-ins and set-pieces. After the break, our performance improved; we managed to equalise and played for the win right until the very end, which I liked. We hit the crossbar twice, but we can’t overlook Friga’s save and the scrambles in front of our goal. The draw is probably a fair result, but I’d like us to be able to handle matches like this and tip the balance in our favour.
