STATS
Hradec Králové: Hradec Králové showed resilience after weathering sustained pressure in the opening half, with goalkeeper Adam Zadražil playing a pivotal role through a series of excellent saves. The visitors improved significantly after the break, taking greater control of the midfield and creating the clearer opportunities, coming closest to scoring when Daniel Horák struck the post. While they were unable to convert their second-half dominance into a winning goal, Hradec delivered a disciplined defensive performance and earned a hard-fought point away from home.
Team preformances
Head coach Jaroslav Veselý made several changes to his starting lineup, handing Roman Květ his debut while Adam Kadlec, Petr Mirvald and new signing Samuel Javorček also came into the side.
Hradec threatened first when Matěj Valenta's run down the left ended with Daniel Trubač firing a deflected effort narrowly wide. That early opportunity proved to be one of the visitors' few meaningful attacks of the opening period as Bohemians quickly took control.
Inspired by the lively Václav Pilař, the home side began to pile on the pressure. Pilař first dragged a shot just wide before creating the game's best chance when his clever pass found Ladislav Almási inside the penalty area. The Slovak striker controlled well and struck goalbound, but Zadražil produced a superb fingertip save to keep the scores level.
The Hradec goalkeeper was called into action again minutes later, brilliantly tipping David Lischka's powerful header over the crossbar after another dangerous Pilař delivery from a corner. Bohemians continued to press, with Mirvald forcing another smart save and an Hradec defender almost diverting a corner into his own net, but the visitors survived the sustained pressure.
Hradec offered a late reminder of their threat before the break when Daniel Horák surged into the penalty area, although Bohemians managed to scramble the danger clear as the teams went into half-time locked at 0-0.
The visitors emerged with renewed purpose after the interval and almost capitalised on a defensive mistake. Goalkeeper Tomáš Frühwald raced from his line but was beaten to the ball by Horák, whose effort from a tight angle struck the post before Bohemians cleared the danger.
Bohemians responded with an excellent move down the left as Javorček delivered a teasing cross that Mirvald headed narrowly wide, but Hradec gradually assumed control of the game. Shortly after coming off the bench, Mick van Buren was played clean through, only for Frühwald to produce an outstanding save to preserve the deadlock.
At the opposite end, Zadražil once again demonstrated his quality when he tipped Jan Smrž's deflected long-range strike over the crossbar. Both sides continued to search for a breakthrough in the closing stages, with substitute Umar failing to convert a promising chance for Hradec before captain Vladimír Darida's late effort was comfortably gathered by Frühwald.
Neither side could find the decisive goal, and the match ended in a goalless draw-only the third 0-0 result in the history of meetings between the clubs. While Bohemians collected their first point of the season after last week's defeat in Teplice, Hradec Králové saw their three-match winning start to the campaign come to an end despite another disciplined away performance.
We played two different halves. We didn't start the match very well, but we were preparing for it. We knew that Bohemians would chase the result and be assertive in the duels. We were falling behind in them and couldn't get to our game. We were tied up in passing, we chose kicks. The second half was already under our control, we controlled the game and could have won the match.
Quotes from the managers
DAVID HOREJŠ
JAROSLAV VESELÝ
We returned to the things that we want to be known for. Compactness, organization, a well-built pitch when playing without the ball and with the ball. The first half was better for us, in which we had situations from which we could have scored a goal. After the break, Hradec changed some things and the substitutes helped them. We take the point as rehabilitation for last week. We need to be more qualitative in the last third of the pitch.
